Following the renewal of the cooperation with the SOS Children's Villages of Greece, EXELIXI ZOIS proceeded on Friday, January 22nd to the renewal of two other co-operations concerning the holistic support and care of adolescents (12-18 years) and young adults (18-25 Years old) who live in the Agios Alexandros Home of Females in Paleo Faliro as well as in the Christodoulio Institution for the Protection of Children.
EXELIXI ZOIS, founded in March 2018, has the mission of full support for children, adolescents and young people living in Closed Child Protection Structures, with the aim of contributing to their healthy and integrated development so that they become self-sufficient, self-reliant and active members of the society. The multiple project is based on the founding donation of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).
The two new agreements are a tangible confirmation of the successful cooperation between the Organizations and aim at the substantial continuation and upgrading of the common vision regarding the enhancement of the quality of life of the above mentioned beneficiary population and its gradual integration into society. At the same time, the new Memoranda of Cooperation, signed in an atmosphere of mutual trust and creativeness for new actions, mark the pursuit of all parties for a substantial upgrade of the services provided under the guidance and supervision of qualified scientific staff.
Specifically, the multiple support services and programs that are designed and implemented, focus on the areas of education (special education and parallel support), psychosocial empowerment, healthcare, creative contact with culture and sports, vocational rehabilitation. The ultimate goal of the services offered is the autonomy and the preparation of the beneficiaries for their smooth integration in the society.
The Director of the Christodoulio Institution for the Protection of Children, Ms. Vasiliki Manousi, thanked the EXELIXI ZOIS for the creative cooperation the previous year, noting that “…the level of social, cultural, psychosocial and artistic intervention helped the girls’ development. With a spirit of collaboration, consistency, responsibility, trust, respect, contagion and empathy, we were all able, together with your participation in our work, to offer essentially to the beneficiary girls”.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Females’ Home of Palaio Faliro "O Agios Alexandros", Mr. Dimitris Mitrellos, underlined regarding the renewal of the memorandum of cooperation: "We are both honored and delighted to have with us the EXELIXI ZOIS. The signing of the memorandum of cooperation for a second consecutive year is the sealing of our common vision which is nothing more than to offer to our hosted girls optimism, safety and the opportunity to dream the development of their lives in a future full of brightness ".
The President of EXELIXI ZOIS, Ms. Dimitra Kalantoni, thanked warmly both the Heads of the collaborating structures for the full confidence they showed in the early stages of EXELIXI ZOIS operation and stressed the importance of this renewal in order to further enhance the quality of life of the beneficiary public.

EXELIXI ZOIS was founded in March 2018 and is addressed to children-adolescents (12-18 years) and young adults (18-25 years) coming from any Closed Child Protection Structure. The Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) was a donor in the action of the EXELIXI ZOIS from the very beginning with its founding donation. Through support services, such as educational and counselling programmes, psychological support programmes in addition to children's contact with sporting , visual art and cultural activities, EXELIXI ZOIS seeks to facilitate their integration into society, giving them self-confidence to move forward dynamically in life, leaving any unpleasant experiences in the past. The Vision of the Nonprofit Civil Partnership is to create a bridge which will foster the smooth transition of its beneficiaries from one age bracket to the other, with the ultimate aim of their independent and autonomous living.
