The beginning of the school year marks the start of all educational programs and activities of EXELIXI ZOIS, a fact that makes us very happy. The impatience, both on our part and on the part of the beneficiaries, gives us the impetus to continue our work with even greater zeal, despite the particularly delicate daily life we experience worldwide.
With the opening of the schools, our associate teachers start the Parallel Support and the Special and Standard Education courses, in the form of reinforcing teaching, for those beneficiaries who need additional support. Based on the results of last year, where a total of 6,996 hours were completed, both live and digital, as well as based on the needs we recorded for the new year, in collaboration with the protection structures, we proceeded to formulate new programs. In the same context, we moved with the Training Seminars of the staff (structures), which aim at the smooth relationship between themselves and the beneficiaries, but also to enhance the effectiveness of their educational work.

Vocational guidance sessions for high school children who have expressed interest are gradually starting, as last year's participants said that the program helped them feel more confident about themselves and their choices. It was also found (through the evaluation forms) that they are now able to describe their career direction in a more structured way, better recognizing their strengths, those that they would like to develop further and at the same time set more specific and realistic goals for the future.

At the same time, the Art Workshops will normally continue this year (last year they exceeded 70), which on the one hand promote the creative and artistic development of the participants and on the other hand expand their skills.
Very soon, the innovative programs of the Psychosocial Support of our adolescents and young beneficiaries will start again, with the aim of empowering them. Individual and group sessions, both for the children and for the involved staff of the structures, are strengthened with new collaborations, in order for them to be supported in the best possible way.

With the completion of the planning of the above actions, the Sports and Cultural activities will be included in the renewed program, either with the physical presence of the beneficiaries, or with the help of the internet.

All our actions are carried out, following the instructions of the General Secretariat for Civil Protection. It is worth mentioning that EXELIXI ZOIS ensured, always with the valuable contribution of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), that all associates (teachers and consultants) undergo molecular tests for COVID-19, before the start of the programs.
